Troy’s story is one of resilience, determination, and transformation. Born to loving yet financially struggling parents, his early life was marked by frequent moves and the challenges of uncertainty. Though he faced academic struggles—being held back twice in elementary school—these early hardships ignited a fierce determination within him to build a better life.

From an early age, Troy embraced hard work. Weekends were spent drumming in his father’s band, while weekdays saw him working at a used car lot to help his family make ends meet. These experiences instilled in him a deep appreciation for both music and cars—two passions that continue to bring him joy.

After graduating high school in 1994, Troy took a job at his girlfriend’s family-owned cultured marble shop, starting as their very first employee. What began as a role in manual labor quickly grew into a managerial position as his talents became apparent. However, Troy’s true ambition lay in sales—a path he couldn’t pursue with his first employer. Undeterred, he joined a competitor, where he significantly boosted their sales. This success didn’t go unnoticed, and his former boss offered him the sales position he had always wanted.

By 2004, Troy recognized the industry’s shift from cultured marble to granite and took a bold step to learn the craft himself. While still working at the cultured marble shop, he launched his first granite fabrication business. But just as the business began to grow, the 2008 housing market crash sent shockwaves through the industry. The cultured marble company where Troy worked declared bankruptcy in 2009, pulling Troy and his wife—who were financially tied to the business—into bankruptcy as well.

Starting over was no easy feat. Troy and his wife salvaged what they could, keeping a small amount of work trickling in and vowing never to let financial instability threaten their business again. They rebuilt from the ground up, using those hard-learned lessons to fortify their company’s future. During this challenging period, Troy faced personal loss as well. His parents both succumbed to lung cancer within 11 months of each other, and he and his wife divorced. Yet, through it all, Troy refused to see himself as a victim. He poured his energy into rebuilding his life and his business.

Today, Troy’s company has not only rebounded but has significantly increased the pre-crash profits. He has diversified into cabinetry and specialty countertop products, earning a reputation for excellence, efficiency, and integrity within his industry. Despite the ups and downs, Troy remains deeply grateful for the journey, crediting his faith in God for guiding him through life’s trials.

Now happily remarried for over a decade to the love of his life, Troy resides on a serene lake in Florida with their beloved bulldog, Panda. His story is a testament to perseverance, faith, and the power of reinvention—proof that even the toughest challenges can lead to extraordinary success.
